EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE INSTRUCTOR - 2 day

The Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI) course covers specific goals and performance requirements for the Primary Care, Secondary Care and Care for Children courses, along with instruction on how to structure learning, the requirements of performance-based training, and your role as the instructor in the learning environment. You also learn how to motivate students, evaluate student knowledge, present course content effectively, become proficient in developing students' hands-on skills practice sessions, and are taught how to present an effective scenario-based learning experience.

This Instructor course is divided into 3 segments;

  1. Independent Learning
  2. Knowledge Development (EFR Instructor Trainer Presentations) and EFR Instructor Final Exam
  3. Teaching Skills Development - Adult and Children (Primary and Secondary Care)

 

You will learn how to teach these skills (below) during the Primary Care (Adults, Children and Infants):

  • Scene Safety Assessment Universal Precautions - Communicable Disease Protection, including barrier use
  • Primary Assessment
  • Rescue Breathing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Conscious and Unconscious
  • Obstructed Airway Management
  • Serious Bleeding Management
  • Shock Management
  • Spinal Injury Management
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training
Emergency Oxygen Use Orientation.

You will learn how to teach these skills (below) during the Secondary Care (Adults, Children and Infants):

  • Injury Assessment
  • Illness Assessment
  • Bandaging
  • Splinting for Dislocations and Fractures (not during Care for Children)

Prerequisites:
To enter the Emergency First Response Instructor course, you must be 18 years old and have completed adult, child and infant CPR and first aid training in the past 24 months or a be a practicing medical professional such as a physician, Emergency Medical Technician.

  1. EFR Instructor manual
  2. Primary and Secondary Care participant manuals and DVD
  3. Care for Children participant manual and DVD

 

Apart from conducting the Emergency First Response Instructor course in conjunction with every PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), PADI Course Director Azman can also schedule an Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI) for you upon request (minimum 4 candidates).
