RESCUE DIVER COURSE in Perhentian Island, Malaysia

Until now, the emphasis of your training has been you and your buddy. The Rescue Diver program teaches you to make diving safer and more enjoyable for others as well.

The Rescue Diver program develops your knowledge and skills so you can effectively perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and render first aid. The program is an important step in expanding your knowledge and experience as a diver.

Goals & value of the PADI Rescue Diver course includes:
-To encourage you to direct awareness towards the well being of others
-Expands problem prevention and self-rescue skills you learnt from your PADI Open Water Diver course
-Expands your diver observation skills
-Install confidence psychologically & attitudinally so that you feel ready in caring for yourself and other divers
-Teaches you to think of choices and options available to handle specific rescue or emergency situations

As the most up to date rescue training program, the PADI Rescue Diver course embraces the philosophy that there is rarely only one way to accomplish a task. Course Overview
This course is divided into 4 components; knowledge development, in-water rescue training dives, scenario practice and dive accident management scenarios.
Course content and structure:

Knowledge development (5 chapters):
-Independent study using the PADI Rescue Diver Manual
-Answering knowledge reviews at the end of each chapters
-Reviewing knowledge reviews with instructor
-Creating an Emergency Assistance Plan
-Final exam –50 questions, passing score of 75% or higher
-Discuss about rescue techniques and different ways of assisting divers

Open water training dives (5 dive sessions):
-Watching demonstration from PADI Rescue Diver video
-Listening to instructor’s briefing
-Practice techniques on land (if needed)
-Watching instructors rescue skills demonstration
-Practice and master 10 rescue skills
-Debriefing and feedback from instructor
-Practice handling some small scenarios
-Log dive

Dive accident scenarios (2 scenarios):
-This is the surprise part, can’t tell you that much!
-In a group, you prepare for and manage a dive accident scenarios created by your instructors and staff members.

Minimum age:
12 years or older
Prerequisite certification:
PADI Adventure Diver with Navigation Adventure dive or qualifying certification from another training organizations.
